Bittrex CEO, Bill Shihara, said during a Podcast interview for Unikrn Radio that it would soon accept fiat deposits, including USD. The podcast is a collaboration between Unikrn Radio and Dash Radio. Dash Radio provides cryptocurrency related news and interest pieces to an audience of more than 8-million listeners.
\r\nThe only US-based crypto exchanges currently allowing USD deposits are GDAX/Coinbase and Gemini. The problem for cryptocurrency traders is the limited coin options. GDAX trades bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, and litecoin. Gemini trades bitcoin and ethereum. In this latest move, Bittrex will offer USD deposits for more than 190-cryptocurrencies, including monero.
\r\nGDAX and Gemini are the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the US, especially for novices, who find it easiest to buy cryptocurrency using fiat currencies, which they can process via their bank\'s ACH and Bank Wire Transfers services.
\r\nThis latest move by Bittrex will allow users better opportunities for trading cryptocurrencies. The move may help to shake up the cryptocurrency exchange markets and could affect the value of bitcoin and ETH, which may see a further fall as mainstream users begin to adopt a broader range of cryptocurrencies.
\r\nIf GDAX and Gemini wish to remain competitive, they will need to offer a greater range of coins; there is speculation that this is already on its way. But, will these changes arrive in time?
