The Decred Project is touring the Netherlands, with presentations already accomplished in The Hague in January and Utrecht on February 13th. On February 15th they will visit Amsterdam, and on the 16th it\'s Rotterdam\'s turn to hear the development team talking about Decred\'s blockchain technology.
\r\nDecred is a democratic, blockchain-based cryptocurrency (DCR), which is community-powered. A group of voluntary contributors who are concerned about blockchain governance see the value of the project being represented by those who work on it. It\'s a transparent, decentralised platform looking to a democratic decision-making future, with participating stakeholders being rewarded for their efforts with DCR native tokens. In operation since 2016, anyone may join the Decred project at any time and take part in its governance.
\r\nDecred has focused on solving blockchain governance. They have an innovative model based on consensus voting, which empowers their stakeholders and allows them to transition seamlessly from one framework of rules to another. Decentralising their decision-making and funding the project sustainably has enabled Decred to build a robust, continually evolving digital currency, free from any influence by third parties. Decred utilises a hybrid Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake protocol to ensure that the whole community gets an equal share in resources and governance.
The blockchain industry has grown exponentially, disrupting traditional markets and creating new opportunities for innovation.
