Zebpay, the popular Indian crypto exchange, has added Ripple (XRP) to its trading platform. Zebpay state that they are the first company in India to offer users the chance to undertake mobile transactions using a bitcoin wallet app through the use of a phone number and no knowledge of bitcoin addresses.
\r\nIn the past two weeks, the exchange has addd both Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin to its list of available cryptos. It will now be adding the more popular cryptocurrency to its ranks.
\r\nRipple is one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies currently on the market, with a market cap of approximately $4.1 billion. Several international banking institutions are utilising Ripple\'s blockchain technology in order to help promote faster and less expensive international payments, including Axis Bank and Santander Bank.
\r\nZebpay\'s decision to list one of the top cryptocurrencies in the world on its trading platform follows recent comments by Arun Jaitley, India\'s minster of finance. Mr Jaitley stated that the government of India were drawing up plans to prohibit the use of crypto in business and personal financial transactions. Despite the news that the government would be stepping up crypto regulations, the crypto market in India does not appear to be slowing down; currently 10% of all cryptocurrency transactions take place there.
