Kevin Abosch – a noted artist from Ireland, and CEO of Asia Innovations Group Andy Tian are gifting $1m worth of Ethereum via their Gifto platform to CoderDojo, according to announcements made on the 12th of February. The duo are donating the coins under the Forever Rose project.
The Forever Rose was created by Gifto, and 'I am a Coin', by Abosch, and supports the work of artists and other creatives through the use of blockchain.
Abosch said that the project was designed to help bridge the gap between art and tech, stating that he felt that blockchain technology could be used to help preserve art's value eternally. He added that he felt that the new era of crypto could help support the work of artists, and help to bring art back into the ownership of the general public.
Kevin Abosch has created over one hundred physical pieces of art, and around ten million pieces of virtual art via his IAMA Coin project. His virtual pieces were developed into ERC20 tokens that can be bought by crypto fans around the world.
The Forever Rose project will see Abosch create art work based on one of the most widely-recognised symbols for romantic love, the rose, in order to raise funds for the CoderDojo Foundation. Abosch and James Whelton, who founded CoderDojo, are close friends.
The blockchain industry has grown exponentially, disrupting traditional markets and creating new opportunities for innovation.
