Man who Received DVD Rather than Bitcoin Miner is Refunded

The Plymouth Herald reports that an order for a Tanli ASIC Processing Bitmain AntMiner S9, with a tag price £3149.99 (the equivalent of $5514), was recently mixed up with a DVD sale.

Ichim Bogdan Cezar decided he wanted to cash in on the recent Bitcoin boom and purchased the machine using the online retailer Amazon with money that he had pooled with his family and friends.

\r\n

However, when Mr Cezar ripped open his eagerly-awaited parcel on December the 5th, he was dismayed to find that the box contained a copy of the \"Boss Baby\" DVD rather than the bitcoin miner he had originally ordered.

\r\n

Speaking to the Plymouth Herald, Cezar said that he got in touch with the Amazon seller who had sold him the product and asked them about the whereabouts of his order. The seller replied that they had made a \"mistake\" and promised to ship out the product as soon as possible.

\r\n

However, the package never arrived. Cezar had to open a number of cases with Amazon before the issue was resolved, calling his experience with the company \"stressful\". He finally received a refund on the 20th of January.

\r\n

According to Amazon reviews, there have been several other instances of Amazon shoppers failing to receive their Bitcoin-related goods from the seller. Many have accused the seller of fraudulent activity.
