The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has advocated a new global cryptocurrency that could potentially be used by the world's financial institutions. Nursultan Nazarbayev has proposed that countries around the world agree to create and make use of a new global cryptocurrency, which he suggests be named G-Global.
There are definite benefits to utilising a global cryptocurrency. An international cryptocurrency could allow for greater ease when it comes to sending and receiving money overseas. A global cryptocurrency may also help to simplify the cryptocurrency industry by eradicating competition between the various cryptocurrencies on the market. However, it may also be difficult to regulate and oversee an international cryptocurrency, as it's unlikely that any one country would be given the authority to control its use.
Nazarbayev went on to note that use of an international cryptocurrency would tackle the issues that cryptocurrency currently faces surrounding currency wars and the chaos of the cryptocurrency marketplace, created by the frequent rise and falls in different coins values. He goes on to advocate for the proposed use of a transparent and simple technology, that is responsive to the wishes of its users. In addition to this, Nazarbayev said that the value of G-Global would be on calculated using "specific assets".
The blockchain industry has grown exponentially, disrupting traditional markets and creating new opportunities for innovation.
