As the crypto craze continues, the South African page of the Gumtree website has reported a large increase in the volume of listings which are offering to trade items in return for bitcoin. One particularly popular category listed is luxury vehicles such as Land Rover Defenders and BMW X5s.

Claire Cobbledick, a representative of Gumtree South Africa, told local news reporters that there had been a very significant increase in the number of listings on the swaps and Bitcoin-only sections of the popular classified ads website.

Cobbledick believes that the sudden increase in listings is a result of the massive price increases experienced by bitcoin over the past few months, saying that many people were willing to part with valuable assets in an attempt to get their hands on bitcoin which may double in price. However, anyone who was successful in trading a luxury item for bitcoins may be disappointed by the recent drop in value that the cryptocurrency has experienced. 

However, some experts are predicting that bitcoin could be valued at $100,000 per coin by the end of 2018, so, if they do not sell the cryptocurrency, those who have traded luxury cars for bitcoins may still make a substantial profit in the years to come.
