Forbes has created its first ever crypto rich list, comprised of the top 20 richest crypto fiends in the business. Many investors and inventors in the world of cryptocurrency have become billionaires almost instantaneously following the crypto boom.
\r\nDespite the marked volatility of various coins on the market, cryptocurrency and blockchain both still seem to be firmly capturing the attention of the markets and investors. There are currently over 1,500 variations of crypto available, worth a total of $550 billion.
\r\nForbes Chief Content Officer Randall Lane said that the latest list from Forbes provides a snapshot of the key point in time when crypto moved from the unknown and obscure to the popular, noting that the new list also helped increase the transparency of crypto\'s journey into the limelight.
\r\nWho topped Forbes new crypto rich list? Chris Larsen, the founder of Ripple. His net worth was approximately $20 billion in January this year, due to his ownership of 5.2 billion XRP (Ripple tokens). Despite a recent plummet in the market value of XRP, Larsen still remains the richest person in crypto.
\r\nThe CEO of Binance, Changpeng \"CZ\" Zhao, came in second on the list. Changpeng is currently worth $2 billion.
