A spokesperson for IOTA announced on 7th February that the company were launching an IOTA Ecosystem platform.

One of the many digital currencies on the market, IOTA is currently gathering a vast amount of interest. A distributed ledger platform, founded in 2015, IOTA works with MIOTA as a digital currency. Since its release, speculation surrounding the development of the IOTA Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) has remained high and now the company have announced their latest venture.

The IOTA Ecosystem is intended as a stage for startups, developers, initiatives and hobbyists globally, to discuss issues and work together. The aim is that the community will be able to combine their efforts to create a decentralised and distributed future. The IOTA Ecosystem will provide everyone in the IOTA community with a chance to meet, learn, collaborate, talk, develop and build.

The team\'s developers explained that the idea behind IOTA is called Tangle. Used to described a new and improved blockless distributed ledger, Tangle is scalable, lightweight and will ensure the transferring of money is free. Unlike any other Blockchain technology out there, agreement is not decoupled but is crucial to this system. This will result in a decentralised and self-regulated peer-to-peer system.
