Many in the the world of crypto have been alarmed at Bitcoin\'s sudden plummet in market value in recent weeks. With huge selloffs taking place, some have asked: is this the end of crypto\'s boom? Following its highest market value records ever in January, Bitcoin fell by more than 30% in the early part of this week, before rising 30.9% on Thursday, to $12,000. Bitcoin isn\'t the only cryptocurrency to be hit; its drop was also joined by some other big players in crypto: Ethereum, Ripple, and Litecoin.

However, many commentators remain optimistic that a crypto revolution is still underway. The head of research and partner at Blockchain Capital, Spencer Bogart, has argued that despite Bitcoin\'s latest crash, cryptocurrency is here to stay and has become increasingly legitimate with a number of investors.

Speaking on The CNBC segment \"Fast Money\" this Thursday, the businessman said that Bitcoin has shown signs that it will survive the volatile market, despite the fact that an undiscerning market was suggested by the overpriced smaller cryptocurrencies currently available. Bogart said that that \"a legion of people\" currently perceived Bitcoin to be a great investment.

However, during the show, former attorney general Eliot Spitzer, said that people needed to have a better understanding of what they were buying, and remarked that he \"didn\'t get\" the cryptocurrency craze – and had not invested in a single coin.
