Andrea Tinianow, the founder and director of the Blockchain Initiative has announced that she is no longer involved with the project.
\r\nThe Delaware Blockchain Initiative was established with the aim of helping individuals and organisations, in both the private and public sectors, to lower the cost of transactions and increase the speed at which they could be completed.
\r\nThe move was announced in a New Year LinkedIn post. The post went on to explain that Tinianow had taken a new position as chief innovation officer at Global Kompass, a management consultancy firm based in Delaware. In her new role, Tinianow will work as a consultant to the private and the public sector on issues relating to Blockchain technology and on government and legal affairs.
\r\nThe departure of Tinianow is notable due to her involvement in creating the Delaware Blockchain Initiative. This helped to drive through new legislation that allowed organisations based in the state to issue and store company shares using a distributed ledger.
\r\nThe legislation came into force in July 2017, just over a year after a former Governor of the state, Jack Markell, announced his highly ambitious blockchain roadmap.
