A Chinese company, Seven Starts Cloud Groups (SSC), has acquired an ownership stake in a trading system provider based in Delaware. Documents filed with the Security Exchange Commission list the transaction as taking place on December 20th and state that SSC acquired a 27% stake in the Delaware Board of Trade (DBOT), giving SSC a majority stake in the company.

DBOT was launched in 2017 to provide a crowdfunding platform which is based on blockchain technology. which is compliant with new state legislation For Seven Starts Cloud Groups, this deal comes shortly after Bruno Wu, a high-profile media mogul, took over as CEO of the company and draws further attention to his status. Within China, he has attracted a large public following via his media company Sun Seven Star Entertainment.

The announcement states that Delaware Board of Trade technology will be used to power Seven Starts blockchain NextGen X platform. It is hoped that this solution will bring further liquidity to ETF-backed digital asset markets in countries such as China, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the U.S.

This is the latest instance of investors from China looking for overseas opportunities through which they can tap into cryptocurrency markets and blockchain technology.
