I/O (Input/Output) Digital has been refining its project since 2014. Founded and developed by Joel Bosh, I/O Digital describes itself as "the swiss army knife" of blockchain technology. It's a next-gen project that uses a blockchain base to build up a multi-layered ecosystem of private and public inter-operable blockchains. The technological revolution that is taking place is causing a high demand for decentralised applications, and I/O, with its IOC coin, is going to fulfil some of that demand.
I/O Digital frequently doesn't know who's going to be using their blockchain, because the whole principle is that it's decentralised. New start-ups aren't required to notify the blockchain when they launch a Dapp or game, but simply use the available API (Application Programming Interface) provided by the blockchain to develop their own projects. Such applications include a new Proof of Concept game idea, where gamers will use IOC's blockchain to store their data and take part in the game.
The IOC cryptocurrency was originally mined with PoW (Proof of Work) algorithms, when the project was launched (with no ICO) in July 2014, but since then the blockchain has been developed to function with PoS (Proof of
