Swiss fintech company, Lykke, announced on February 7th that it has listed a new token on its cryptocurrency exchange, LykkeX. GNT is the native token of the Golem supercomputer, a global, decentralised network of computer power that claims to be the Airbnb for computing. Users can rent their computing power to the network and get paid in cryptocurrency, combining the functionality of a supercomputer with the open access of cloud-based services. With the power of PCs and data centres worldwide, Golem can undertake a wide variety of tasks, from machine learning and scientific computing to rendering CGI.
LykkeX is a global marketplace which links both fiat and digital currencies in a long list of asset pairs. The parent company, Lykke (the Norwegian word for Luck), was originally founded in 2013 by Richard Olsen, as a traditional forex trading company, with shares. The digital currency exchange followed later, built on the Ethereum blockchain, and issued its own native token, the LKK.
Golem’s GNT currently holds a position of #71 in global market cap rankings and is valued at $0.34, while Lykke's own LKK is ranked only at #211 and valued at $0.17. Prices are inching up gradually after the announcement and it is expected that the new listing will be beneficial to both parties.
