BitPesa, the online Blockchain payment platform has revealed it is expanding its spread by attaining, global money transfer platform, TransferZero. Having been launched in 2013, BitPesa is now the biggest Blockchain payment platform for Europe and Africa. Founders of the platform explained that BitPesa was a place where companies and individuals around the globe could trade and invest Bitcoin using African currencies. It currently operates in Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
\r\nOfficially an Authorised Payment Institution according to the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority, BitPesa say they want to expand their reach further and have acquired TransferZero. Based in Madrid, TransferZero sends funds to consumers and businesses in over 200 countries processing over 50 currencies.
\r\nFounder and CEO of BitPesa, Elizabeth Rossiello said that the new partnership meant BitPesa had doubled their bank accounts as well as their infrastructure. She also confirmed that this latest news didn’t mean the company was exiting the African market but that it was expanding into Europe. She also said that currently there are no plans for the company to set up operations in the USA.
\r\nRossiello concluded by explaining that markets such as North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia were in need of an increased number of entrepreneurs and that she wanted to be a part of that.
